With 52.4 million tourists visiting in 2016 alone, Italy is the fifth most visited country in the world. No wonder millions of us every year make our way to Italy, the beautiful, ancient home of countless wonders including Rome itself, Vesuvius and Pompeii, Milan, Naples, Venice, and Florence. The experts believe that, by the year 2028, tourism in Italy will represent about 14.3% of the nation's GDP. The signs are already looking good - the number of foreign visitors increased from around 81.6 million in 2015 to 90.6 million in 2017. Tourists' annual expenditure went up too. In fact today tourism is one of the most important industries in Italy, one of the fastest-developing and most profitable, with a total estimated revenue of almost 40 billion Euros in 2017.

Tourism in Italy boomed in the summer of 2017, with almost 50 million people spending the night at an Italian hotel during June, July, and August alone. Hire and rental firm Arval Service lease Italia S.P.A enjoyed a good year in 2017, earning 1,391,142,584.00 Euros through the year. A revenue of 771,676,721.00 Euros made the leisure and entertainment player CNS Consorzio Nazionale Servizi Societa Cooperativa happy, and Dussman Services S.R.L, also in leisure and entertainment, earned a healthy revenue of 454,167,746.00 Euros last year.
